Tyrian bestiary
The campaign levels use 1,204 enemy entries: 885 enemies and 319 boss parts. They are grouped here by the sprite bank they are drawn from, which usually matches a planet or a theme.
An enemy entry is one line of the game's enemy tables used by a campaign level: the same picture can appear in several entries with different armor or score. Boss parts are the pieces the game tracks with a boss health bar.

The game names only a handful of its regular enemies, in the data cubes that explain the two bonus games. Those names, matched to the game data by their score and look, have their own pages. For the big fights, see Bosses.

About these names
The original game data gives enemies numbers, not names. OpenTyrian2000 Enhanced computes a stable technical name for each one from
its sprite bank and image, for example tech_corridor_32; modders use these names to tweak an enemy or place it in a level.
The bestiary shows a readable name first and the technical name below it:
- an official name (Ignatz, Morble…) when a game text or a well-sourced community name can be tied to that exact enemy;
- a boss part is named after its boss (Z-29 Central Defense Ship part);
- every other enemy gets a descriptive name built from its sprite bank and image number (Tech corridor enemy 31), marked as unofficial.
- Armor is the hit points at Normal difficulty. Easy lowers it, Hard and above raise it (see difficulty). An armor of 255 means the part cannot be destroyed by your shots.
- Score is what destroying the enemy adds to your score and to your credits in the campaign.
- Guns lists the enemy's weapons, how many frames it waits between shots and the damage of one shot.
- Episodes 1–3 and 4–5 use two different enemy tables. A technical name always refers to the same enemy in both.
